Dr. Mahmood Messkoub
(Senior Research Fellow) is EUR-ISS PI on the project. He is an economist with a long track record of researching migration in developed and developing countries. From 2008 to 2012 he was academic director of a project to advise on the establishment and curriculum development of the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Ghana (Legon, Accra), which has become the premier think-tank and postgraduate training centre on migration studies in West Africa.
Prof. Arjun Singh
Professor of Development Economics, is the co-investigator for EUR-ISS. His research focuses on labour and human resource economics in developing countries.
The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), a Faculty of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), is an international post-graduate school of policy-oriented, social science research that has a strong track record in research in the field of migration.
It is part of the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Research Centre Governance of Migration and Diversity (GMD), a research centre of scholars that share a focus on the governance of migration and diversity. EUR- ISS has a highly international faculty and student body, with faculty coming from 24 countries, and the majority of PhD and graduate students originating from the Global South.
EUR-ISS will be mainly involved in WP2 and WP 8 and contribute to other WPs. It will serve as contact point with the EU partners and the University of Ghana.
