Professor Joseph Kofi Teye

Director of the Centre for Migration Studies, and project lead in Ghana. Joseph is responsible for managing the project and coordinating all research and policy engagement activities in Ghana.

Dr. Leander Kandilige

Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Migration Studies, and Research team member for the Ghana research. Leander is responsible for coordinating field data collection on this project.

Dr. Mary Setrana

Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Migration Studies, and Research team member on this project. Mary is responsible for performing qualitative data and gender analyses on this project.

The Centre for Migration Studies (CMS) was established in 2006 as a unit in the University of Ghana, which is the premier and the largest tertiary institution in Ghana.

The Centre’s mandate is to undertake research, teaching and training, capacity building, policy assessment, and dissemination in the field of migration. CMS has rich experience in managing and executing large research projects funded by international organisations, including the EU, UKRI, DANIDA, and IOM.

The Centre has a pool of highly reputable researchers with extensive expertise conducting migration research. The Centre’s research output has been instrumental in the development of migration policies in Ghana and other African countries.
